Step One: Digital Impressions
The old way meant biting down on a tray full of goopy material that made you gag. We don’t do that here.
Instead, we use a small handheld scanner to take digital images of your tooth and the surrounding area. The scanner is about the size of a toothbrush, and it captures thousands of images in seconds. Those images are stitched together into a highly accurate 3D model of your mouth.
No gagging. No waiting for impressions to set. Just a quick, comfortable scan that gives us all the information we need.
Step Two: Designing Your Crown
Once we have the digital model, we move to the design phase. Using specialized software, we map out your new crown right on the screen. We can see every curve, every contact point, and every bite alignment issue before we even start milling.
This is where the artistry comes in. We shape the crown to match your surrounding teeth in size, contour, and shade. The software allows us to make minute adjustments that ensure a natural look and a comfortable fit.

Step Three: Milling Your Crown
When the design is approved, we send the file to our in‑office milling machine. This compact device carves your crown from a solid block of high‑quality ceramic material.
The milling process takes about ten to fifteen minutes. During that time, we check in with you and make sure you’re comfortable. You might hear the machine working, but there’s no discomfort involved.
When it’s finished, we have a fully formed, durable crown ready to be placed.
Step Four: Placement and Adjustment
Before we bond the crown in place, we do a test fit. We check how it feels when you bite down, how it looks alongside your other teeth, and whether any slight adjustments are needed. If something doesn’t feel quite right, we can make small modifications immediately, no waiting for a lab to send back a revised version.
Once everything looks and feels perfect, we bond the crown securely to your tooth. You could walk out that same day with a finished, permanent restoration.
